Welcome to Sitka!
Sitka
is located in the Southeast panhandle of Alaska, about half way between
Seattle and Anchorage, on Baranof Island.
Formerly
known as Novo-Arkhagel'sk (Ново-Архангельск), the capital of
Russian America, this jewel of a town is situated between mountains and
forests on one side, and the Pacific Ocean on the other, and is only
accessible by air or sea.
